Dr. MOBASHAR SADIK CEO IFMP

Dr. Mobashar Sadik, a Ph.D from University Utara Malaysia, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in management across both the public and private sectors. He currently serves as the CEO of the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan, a public sector company and an investment of SECP. He works in close liaison with SECP, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), Pakistan Stock Brokers Association (PSBA), Insurance Association of Pakistan (IAP), Mutual Fund Association of Pakistan (MUFAP), and other representative bodies from the financial market to ensure availability of skilled human resource for the sustainable growth of financial markets of Pakistan. Moreover, he is also actively involved in activities promoting investor education and awareness.

Previously, Dr. Sadik has held prominent roles, including Registrar at The University of Lahore, Head of department at FAST and SS CASE-IT, and CEO of Margalla Educational Foundation/ Margalla Institute of Technology. He has also established himself as a distinguished trainer and consultant, delivering high-impact assignments for organizations such as Bank Alfalah, UNDP, ILO, Plan International, Telenor, Adidas, UNICEF, PTCL, ILO, HEC, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of IT, NHA, NICT R&D Fund and NIBAF etc.

A key contributor to several landmark initiatives, Dr. Sadik was part of the consultant team that developed IGNITE (formerly NICT R&D Fund), a unique public-private partnership initiative advancing innovation and technology. He also takes pride in being the author of Outreach Scholarship Program, a program, which has transformed the dynamics of higher education in Pakistan. Experience of reaching out to the far flung geographical regions gained in the outreach Scholarship Program helped Dr. Sadik in delivering programs like QAT of Punjab Education Foundation which needed outreach and advocacy amongst masses at the grass root level to mobilize communities at the diversified geographical locations.

Dr. Sadik has played a pivotal role in identifying the role which cellular technologies could undertake to augment governance in the public sector service delivery. He has also helped in proving the concept of mobile governance in Pakistan. Mobashar found the idea of changing lives with the help of mobile technology so appealing that he made it part of his research, which culminated in his PhD from University Utara Malaysia.

Prior to IFMP, Dr. Sadik led a team of consultants, devising management structure, rules of business, business plan, financial and accounting manuals and future road map for the Highway Research Training Center under the auspices of National Highway Authority and Ministry of Communications Government of Pakistan.
