MS. ASMA HAMID (Chairperson of the Board)

An advocate of Supreme Court of Pakistan and founder of Asma Hamid Associates, she regularly advises clients in corporate and commercial laws including structuring and leading complex and high value transactions. Her extensive litigation portfolio includes representations before the Supreme Court,
Federal Shariah Court, Lahore High Court, Islamabad High Court, Tribunals and governmental departments. Largely contributed in the areas of public and private sector projects, tax laws, procurement laws, contracts, joint ventures, banking and finance laws, capital markets and securities laws, intellectual property laws, foreign investment, insurance laws, construction and real estate laws, employment and labour laws, energy, water and environmental laws.
Advised Government of Punjab on extensive range of policy matters including energy, education, health, criminal matters, prosecution reforms, security, State land resumption, agricultural laws reforms and service matters and was also appointed the Advocate General for the Province of Punjab that gives her the unique distinction of being the first woman to hold the post of Advocate General in Pakistan’s history.





MR. MOBASHAR SADIK (CEO)

Mr. Mobashar Sadik is a Phd candidate enrolled with University Utara Malaysia. He did his MBA from Quaid-e-Azam University. He started his professional career from the Banking Industry. However, the love of academia compelled him to adapt research and training as a profession in 1997.

Mr. Sadik comes with a vast experience of educational management in the private sector. He takes proud of being part of the founding team of FAST Business School at FAST National University, which, in his tenure as a head, had grown to a student body of more than 600 students. Mr. Sadik also has served as the Registrar at The University of Lahore and remained CEO at the Margalla Educational Foundation/ Margalla Institute of Technology.

Mr. Sadik is also a trainer of high repute having designed, organized and conducted various training workshops for clients like Bank Alfalah, UNDP, ILO, Plan International, HEC, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of IT, NHA, NICT R&D Fund and NIBAF etc. He is an active member of professional community of consultants and provides management and financial consulting to Business Organization. He had the honor of being the consultant to the Ministry of IT for developing Ignite (formerly NICT R&D Fund) which is a unique initiative of Government of Pakistan and the telecom sector. He also takes pride in being the author of Outreach Scholarship program, a program, which has transformed the dynamics of higher secondary education in Pakistan. The funds committed to this program have swelled in last six years to more than Rs.4 billion. Experience of reaching out to the far flung geographical regions gained in the outreach Scholarship program helped Mr. Sadik in delivering such programs which needed outreach and advocacy amongst masses at the grass root level to mobilize communities at the diversified geographical locations.

Mr. Sadik has played a pivotal role in identifying the role which cellular technologies could undertake to augment birth registration in Pakistan. He also takes pride in being part of the team which piloted the idea of Mobile Birth Registration in the provinces of Punjab and Sind. He also has helped NHA in designing a complete road map of developing Highway Research & Training Center (HRTC) into a self-sustainable independent center of excellence.

Presently Mr. Sadik is heading the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP). IFMP is a subsidiary of SECP. It also serves as the research, training and consulting arm of the SECP incorporated to assist financial markets in its growth. Since his joining at IFMP, Mr. Sadik is working hard to promote investor education. He is also working upon developing joint initiatives, with the representative organizations of financial markets, to develop learning pathways which could help the financial market professionals in achieving excellence.





MR. BADIUDDIN AKBER (Shareholder Director)

Mr. Badiuddin Akber has more than 20 years of diversified senior management experience in the fields of finance and operations. He has served in various renowned conglomerates in Pakistan as Head of Finance and Company Secretary. He has also served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited.

Mr. Akber was previously serving as the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer at CDC since June 2015 before being elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer on January 01, 2019. He was also the nominated Chairman of the Oversight Committee formed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan under Joint Inspection Regulations, 2015.

Mr. Akber has demonstrated extensive expertise in the spheres of Financial Management, Clearing & Settlement, Risk Management, Operations, Product Development and Project Management in the Pakistan Capital Market. As Chief Operating Officer at NCCPL, he played an instrumental role in the implementation of various significant products, services and reform measures which include Revamping of Capital Gain Tax Regime, Unique Identification Number (UIN), Institutions' Risk Management System, Straight Through Processing of Market Settlements and UIN Information System (UIS) and in the introduction of Leverage Products such as Margin Trading, Margin Financing and Securities Lending & Borrowing.

After completing his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from the University of Karachi, Mr. Akber attained various professional degrees in accounts and finance from prestigious national and international institutions. In addition to being a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan (FCMA), he also holds ACMA-CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountants) qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA - UK) and qualification of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA - Ontario, Canada).

He is also serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CDC Share Registrar Services Limited and EClear Services Limited. Moreover, he is also serving as Director on the Boards and various sub-committees of ITMinds Limited, Naymat Collateral Management Company Limited and Institute of Financial Market of Pakistan.

He has attended the Annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development by the US Securities & Exchange Commission and various seminars and conferences in UK, India, Europe and Far-East countries on risk management, clearing & settlement and surveillance of capital market operations.





MR. JAWAD HAIDER HASHMI (Shareholder Director)

Mr. Hashmi is serving as nominee director of PSX on the Board of Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan. He has over 23 years of experience in the field of Capital Markets with a strong understanding of trading operations and support functions. Mr. Hashmi remained associated with Emirates NBD Group, UAE for more than 12 years where he has held senior positions including Head of Operations & Business Support for Emirates NBD General Clearing Member and Chief Operating Officer for Emirates NBD Securities Dubai. Moreover, he was part of Operational Risk Control and Head of Brokerage Operations of Emirates Islamic Bank (Emirates NBD Group Co.).

Prior to Emirates NBD Group, Mr. Hashmi has worked for IGI Investment Bank in the capacity of Head of Brokerage Operations, Lahore Stock Exchange as Manager Clearing House & Settlement and Prudential Securities Ltd. as Branch Manager.

Jawad is an MBA Finance and an Associate of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI), UK.





MS. KAHLIDA HABIB (Nominee Director)

Ms. Habib, as head of Policy development of the Non-Bank Financial Sector i.e. the Mutual Funds, Investment Advisors, Private Pension Schemes, Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds, Leasing companies, Investment Banks, Non-Bank Microfinance Companies and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), she is responsible for investor protection, financial inclusion and growth of the NBFC sector through effective regulations.
She possesses extensive professional experience having major orientation towards policy and strategic development of regulatory framework, global standards setting and implementation assessment, corporate finance, financial management and regulation of corporate and securities laws.





MS. HINA DHEDHI JUNAID (Nominee Director)

She is serving for over a decade as the Chairperson of AKD Securities Ltd., Ms. Hina Dhedhi Junaid has a deeply rooted career in Pakistan's capital markets. With wide-ranging exposure to private investments, real estate developments, investment banking and commodities trading she has effectively governed Pakistan's premier financial services brokerage. Prioritizing forging strong network of service-oriented client relationships with the nation's foremost institutions, family offices, private investors and foreign portfolio investors. Establishing AKD Commodities (Pvt.) Limited in 2011 she led the Group's efforts to extend financial market expertise to the nascent mercantile market. Steadily augmenting the AKD Group's portfolio, she serves as a Non-Executive Director for AKD Analytics, an integrated provider of back-end services to international financial services intermediaries with clients throughout the MENA region. Mrs. Junaid also serves as Director AKD Venture Fund Ltd. which is Pakistan's First Venture Capital Fund, Creek Developers (Pvt.) Ltd an associated Group Company developing a premium multipurpose real-estate project in DHA Phase 8, Karachi and Oil & Gas Investment Limited (OGIL) which has exploration and development concessions across Pakistan. As a socially aware business leader, Hina is an active philanthropist pursuing various charitable causes and social welfare projects in the domains of primary education, medical research and poverty alleviation. In a unique position as the first female chairperson of a Pakistani brokerage, she champions women empowerment initiatives including building financial awareness and promoting investment avenues. Recently she has been involved with renowned institutions and foundations including HANDS, SIUT, WWF and ORANGE TREE





MS. NASREEN RASHID (Independent Director)

Currently an international Insurance consultant, Ms. Rashid has over 25 years of experience in Pakistan’s insurance industry including being CEO of Shaheen Insurance (the only female CEO in the insurance industry) and COO of Adamjee Insurance for over 10 years. Also served as the Head of Insurance Division at the SECP and was instrumental in initiating major policy reforms for increasing the level of governance and insurance penetration in the country. She is currently working as an international Insurance consultant.





MR. MUHAMMAD ABDUL SAMAD (Independent Director)

Mr. Samad is currently workking as the CEO of Atlas Asset Management. He has vast experience in the local investment management industry. He joined Atlas Asset Management Limited as a Fund Manager – Equity Funds in November 2005, and has held C-suite positions for over a decade, including the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer positions. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD Fontainebleau, on nomination by the Atlas Group. Prior to joining AAML, Mr. Samad spearheaded the research function at National Investment Trust Limited, and was also a part of various merger, acquisition and corporate governance related matters besides research. He has significant Board experience, where he has served as a director on the board of nineteen listed companies, including Atlas Battery Limited, Lucky Cement, Berger Paints, Mirpurkhas Sugar, amongst others.
